Who I am

I decided that a post about me [me and me] is what my site definitely needs to have. You know, so we can bond and you keep coming back and then we can exchange cool flashing banners of our websites, then attract attention of the media and who knows where it will lead.

First, let's look at the facts

Arien is an online name. My name is actually Justína and I'm a woman. I think you might have guessed that already.

Anyway, here goes some general info:

This year I responsibly finished university, and got a Master‘s degree in Meteorology and Climatology at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Sciences of the Comenius University in my home city of Bratislava. Since I love teaching of any kind, I also amused myself during my scientific studies with courses related to teachers' training. So it happens, that I am a master of science with an authority to teach elementary and high-school Physics as well.

Apart from the previously mentioned school, which continuously takes less and less active capacity of my brain, most of my time is taken by work. I work as a webdesigner and a graphic designer. I spend more time dug nose-deep in Photoshop and Illustrator and going through websites, tutorials, webstandards and specifications, than I ever spent on any schoolwork in my life. I enjoy my design work and can't wait to finally finish school and dive in it completely.

Non-school and non-work related

Well, there's hardly any time for non-work related stuff. Since I enjoy design, you can easily find me working on a website at 1 am on Saturday or any such inappropriate time of day and week.

I also love books. If I start reading a good book or books series, you can say I'm in trouble. I can't stop, you see, so I keep reading it to the end. Even if the series is 10 000 pages long. I just keep reading for a week, without much sleep, with an utter disregard for school, work, housework, personal hygiene, life in general. So I have to be VERY careful not to start reading any books at certain times of the year, like, right before exams.

To make it easier for you to read and for me to type, I made a list of things I like.

I like:

  • My sofa
  • Blues, jazz, swing and other interesting music
  • Sunrises
  • Libraries
  • Books
  • Homemade jams
  • Private jokes and jokes that require a certain degree of science knowledge
  • Dressing up
  • The cool side of my pillow in the summer and the warm one in the winter
  • Webdesign
  • Graphic design
  • Teaching people new things
  • Summer
  • Winter
  • Irises
  • My turtle
  • Cooking
  • Wordplay
  • Double entendres
  • Sunny afternoons
  • Books (yes, I know I mention them twice, I was tempted to write the name of every book or book series I like, but luckily, I stopped myself)
  • TarValon.net
  • Succulents
  • Helpful tutorials on how to do things I really need to do
  • Colourful clothing
  • Idris

And there's more, of course. This list is a work in progress. I am a being in progress, I grow and change. I will update the list accordingly. ;]
